The Greater Accra Constituency Chairmen Caucus of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has paid the filling fees for former president John Dramani Mahama to contest the party’s internal primaries slated for May this year.
The 21 Chairmen of the caucus which is made up of all the 34 constituencies within the Greater Accra Region presented an amount of ghc 405, 000 to the former president.
Presenting the Cheque to the former President in Accra, Mr Nicholas Oko Ofei, secretary to the Chairmen Caucus stated that, the move was to ensure that Mr John Mahama focuses on his campaign to win the support of the delegates.
Mr Ofei further explained that, the former president has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he has the magic wand to recue power from the failed New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the Greater Accra Chairmen, Mr Mahama stands tall amongst all his contenders adding that the former president has some unfinished business and must be given the opportunity to complete his ambitious programs so as to put the nations economy back on track.
Mr John Dramani Mahama expressed gratitude to the 21 Chairmen of the Caucus for their gesture assuring that the move proved the level of confidence they have in him which is a reflection of how the delegates were feeling across the country.
He assured that the party should remain resolute and battle ready going into the 2024 General elections. The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is expected to hold it Parliamentary and presidential Primaries across the country in May 2023 to elect parliamentary candidates and a flagbearer for the party ahead of the 2024 general elections.
