Kpone-(NF)- 7933 candidates from both public and private schools within the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality in the Greater Accra Region are engaged in the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across some 30 examination canters within the municipality, the Municipal education director has revealed.

The candidates where from some 228 schools across the municipality, with a total number of  4268 from the public schools and another 3665 from the various private schools in the municipality.

In an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency after during a tour to some examination centers on Wednesday, Mr Evans Henry Arthur kpone-Katamanso Municipal education director stated  that, the 2022 examination which commenced from Monday was expected to end on Friday 21 October 2022 nation wide.

Mr Arthur further explained that,out of the 7933 candidates writing the 2022 BECE , 3697 were boys and 4166 girls , adding that over 300 invigilators including supervisors have been deployed to the various centers doted across the municipality to monitor the exercise.

Mr Arthur admonished the  candidates to abide by the examination rules and regulations through out the exercise , adding that candidates  who defy any of the rules and regulations could have his or her entire examination papers canceled by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

The Municipal education director again encouraged the candidates to put up their best so as to gain admissions into the second circle institution to further climb the academic ladder.

Mr Arthur also called on parents, guardians, philanthropists and other stakeholders to assist education within the Municipality.

The Municipal education director toured  Michel camp 1 ,Ebenzerhills, Goshon and the Gbetsile examination centers on Wednesday.
