NF-(Tema)- Owners of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Tema have been schooled on some basic financial Management and customer service at the Fountainhead Christian University College in Tema community 12.

The day’s business seminar was on the theme, ‘managing a successful business in the midst of a global pandemic’. The role of the private sector. which was aimed at helping artisanal and small-scale businesses thrive post the coronavirus pandemic.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Isaac Tonyi lecturer at the fountainhead University stated that the one-day Business seminar was organized to empower the community especially in the post Covid era where business were finding it difficult to regain their grounds.

He noted that the entrepreneurs at the end of the Seminar would be able to make some gains and prudently manage their finances so as to keep them in business.

Mr Tonyi further stressed that one basic challenge that confronts many Ghanaian entrepreneurs was customer services adding that the seminar would widen the scope of the entrepreneurs on how to render good customer services to their clients.

Professor Emmanuel Osei Asiamah , governance expert and a business trainer, mentioned that all business owners must ensure they have registered with the Ghana Revenue Authority(GRA) so as to avoid situations that could affect their businesses.

Professor Asiamah again stated that one needed to be financially disciplined so as to keep their business alive.
He noted that the implementation of the electronic transaction levy (E-Levy) should not scare business owners from transacting business on the various electronic platforms.

According to him, though there were some lapses with the policy, business owners should find ways of taking advantage of the policy to enhance their business.

Traders, seamstress, tailors, masons, plumbers, welders, carpenters amongst others participated in the business seminar.
