NF-(Akrade)-Some supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region has dispatched a strong worded statement to the Local Government Minister, warning him not to facilitate a ploy to include someone he preferred to be nominated as District Chief Executive(DCE) in the Constituency.
The supporters argued that such a move would render the party unattractive in the constituency should the local government minister succeeds.
Mr. Ronald Alex Asare, spoke person for the group alleged that, Mr. Daniel Botwe the local Government minister was marshaling all effort to include Mr. Owusu Frimpong Banahene someone they claimed was unfit to the position of a District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman .
He further explained that not only did Mr. Banahene was unfit for the job, they claimed he was also not a grassroot person and non indegine.
Mr. Asare again alleged that Mr. Banahene was a close ally to the local government ministers hence the frantic effort to get his name mentioned by the president as the nominee to be considered for the DCE job in Asuogyaman.

The group further alleged that, Mr. Banahene was disqualified by the Regional Vetting Committee, adding that it was surprising to hear the disqualified aspirant Mr. Frimpong Banahene name appeared at the National Vetting Commmittee for Consideration.
They claimed that checks by some Party executive from a reliable source revealed that the National and the Regional Vetting Committee shortlisted Mr.Christian Okomfo Addo, current Constituency Secretary, Mr. Daniel Adu Appea, current First Vice Chairman, Mr. Samuel Kwame Agyekum, incumbent DCE, and Mr. Savior Kwaku Woanyah, a former constituency officer, as candidates.
The group lamented that , gone were the days where Mr. Dan Botwe succeeded in imposing his choice of candidate on the people adding that, in 2015 the current local government minister imposed mr.Ntow Bediako on the people.
‘It won’t happen this year’. he added.
